Cashmere Care Guide
With a little love and care your KASMIRI will last a lifetime.
All our cashmere collections are expertly crafted from premium pure cashmere yarn to create a luxurious experience. All our cashmere pieces are designed and made to last; to preserve the quality and integrity of your KASMIRI piece, please follow our care instructions.
HOW TO WASH CASHMERE
Cashmere is breathable and has antibacterial properties, so don’t feel the need to wash your cashmere frequently. It is better for our precious planet. Airing your cashmere in the fresh air away from sunlight is enough to keep your cashmere fresh between wears.
Hand wash in cold water using a clean bowl and the mildest detergent, such as a special cashmere lotion or a dollop of gentle baby shampoo. Never use wool softeners.
Press the excess water out of your cashmere until the water runs clear. No wringing, twisting, or stretching as this will damage the delicate cashmere fibers. Lay your cashmere on a clean white towel, and dry flat in the shade away from direct sunlight and heat.
If you prefer, you may dry-clean your cashmere, although hand washing will make it softer. Ensure your dry cleaner has experience with cashmere.
HOW TO STORE CASHMERE
Ensure your cashmere is clean and dry before storing it in a closet or drawer. It’s a good idea to fold and store it in our KASMIRI box to prevent it from rubbing against other clothes and for safekeeping. You may wish to add a few cedar wood blocks or a sachet of dried lavender
to protect your cashmere from moths.
HOW TO CARE FOR CASHMERE
Pilling will naturally occur as with all natural wools. This is expected for knitted pieces especially and can be removed with a de-pill comb. We recommend de-pilling once every 6 weeks to preserve the longevity and look of your cashmere piece.
Our woven cashmere pieces are tightly woven on looms and are denser and durable offering long-lasting wear and resistance to pilling.
