Cashmere is breathable and has antibacterial properties, do don’t feel the need to wash your cashmere robe frequently. Airing your cashmere in the fresh air away from sunlight is enough to keep your robe fresh between wears.
When it is time to wash your cashmere robe, we would recommend handwashing in cold water using mild cashmere shampoo or gentle baby shampoo. A dollop of detergent is all you need. Never use wool softeners.
Press the excess water out of your cashmere until the water runs clear. No wringing, twisting, rubbing, or stretching as this will damage the delicate cashmere fibres. Lay your cashmere robe on a clean, dry towel and dry flat in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
Ensure your cashmere is clean and dry before storing it away. It’s a good idea to store your cashmere robe folded as hanging your robe may cause it to lose shape over time. When stored away you may wish to include cedar balls or sachets of lavender to deter moths.
